How to make a No Sew Felt Nativity Ornament

Supplies:

  • felt fabric
  • fabric glue or hot glue
  • Ribbon
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Template

Instructions:

Print out the no sew nativity ornament template and cut out all of the pattern pieces.

Choose different colored felt fabrics for the ornaments.

Trace the patterns onto the chosen felt fabrics and cut them out.

If you are making this project with younger kids, an adult can cut out the pattern and felt pieces to make this project easier.

See the photo below for the colors we chose, but feel free to choose any colors you like for your ornament!

Use hot glue or fabric glue to glue the nativity ornament together. I recommend fabric glue if you are making this ornament with young children.

Glue the roof on the top of the house piece and attach the long strip along the bottom of the house.

Make baby Jesus by gluing the smallest head circle piece near one side of the small oval piece.

For Joseph, glue the head scarf piece on top of the largest head circle.

To begin creating Mary, glue her hair the top of the middle sized head circle.

Continue making Joseph by gluing the head scarf tie onto his head scarf.

For Mary, glue her scarf onto her head.

For both Joseph and Mary, glue their heads on the top of their bodies.

Place Mary and Joseph on either side of the stable and attach them with glue.

Next, glue the manger over the bottom edge of baby Jesus’ body, so it looks like he is inside the manger.

Glue Jesus and the manger between Mary and Joseph.

Finally, take a small piece of ribbon, form a loop with it, and glue it on the back of the stable to complete the Nativity ornament.

  1. Thank you so much for this great craft activity. I adapted it to use materials we had on hand, using cardstock and craft sticks to make the stable, construction paper for the holy family, and curling ribbon to make the hanger. They turned out so cute!
