Penguin Bookmark Craft

This adorable penguin bookmark is a fun winter craft for kids of all ages.

Whether you are looking for an adorable craft for a child who loves penguins, need a Valentine craft to gift friends, or want to make a cute craft during an arctic unit study- this penguin craft is sure to delight!

How to Make a Penguin Bookmark

List of Supplies:

  • Colored craft paper
  • A pair of scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Sharpies
  • Template

Instructions:

Download and print out the penguin bookmark template. Cut out the template pieces

Select black, white, orange and pink or red colored craft papers for the penguin bookmark craft.

Trace the template pieces on the colored papers. Use a pair of scissors to cut out the traced pieces.

Glue the white cutout on the of the body cutout.

Attach the feet cutouts along the bottom edge of the white body cutout.

Apply glue to the straight edge of one of the wings. Attach the glued portion to the side of the penguin’s body.

Be sure to keep the rest of the wing free from glue.

Glue the other wing on the other side of the penguin’s body.

Take the heart cutout and apply a drop of glue on one side of the heart as shown below.

Place the glued part of the heart cutout under one of the wing cutouts; keep the other side of the heart open.

Use a marker to draw eyes on to the penguin.

Use pink marker to draw blush spots on both cheeks.

Finally, glue the beak cutout near the top of the penguins face, between the eyes.

To use this penguin as a bookmark, simply insert a page under the penguin’s wings and heart.
