Today we are using a printable pattern to make some fun back to school themed corner bookmarks. How to make Back to School Bookmarks

List of Supplies

  • Colored craft papers
  • Printed template sheet
  • A pair of scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil –  to trace the template
  • Origami paper or regular copy paper
  • Markers

Instructions:

Download and print out the bookmark printable patterns. Cut out the pattern pieces for the bookmarks you’d like to make.

Select different fun and bright colored craft papers for the back to school bookmark patterns.

Let’s start with the backpack bookmark. Trace the backpack patterns on the selected colored craft papers and cut them out nicely.

Glue the big flap of the backpack along the top edge of the large square backpack cutout.

Glue the front pocket of the backpack below the flap.

Glue the round cutout overlapping the flap and the square cutout as shown below.

Attach the handle at the top edge of the backpack, glueing it behind the backpack.

Attach the backpack straps on either sides of the top handle, behind the backpack square cutout.

Use markers or gel pens to draw outlines of each part to give the backpack a finished look.

Now, let’s make the origami corner bookmark.

Cut a 12cm x 12 cm square of copy paper or origami paper.

Fold the square paper in half, diagonally.

Fold down the top corner of the top layer and crease it to touch the long edge of the triangle.

Fold up the right corner of the triangle.

Tuck in the triangle you just folded up, inside the top layer. (See below)

Follow the previous two steps on the other corner of the triangle.

Glue the backpack onto the origami corner bookmark.

Allow the glue to dry completely before using the bookmark.

Now, make any of the other back to school themed shapes. Then fold more origami corner bookmarks and attach the back to school items.
