How to Make a Handprint Bald Eagle
Materials:
- Wiggle Eyes
- Cardstock – Brown, White & Golden Yellow
- Craft Glue or Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Black Marker
- Pencil
- Printed Pattern
Instructions:
Download, print, and cut out the eagle patterns.
Trace the head and tail feathers once onto white cardstock, trace the beak once and the talons twice onto golden yellow cardstock, trace the body once and the handprint wings twice onto brown cardstock with a pencil.
Note: We’ve included a hand shape on the pattern, so teachers can easily make a sample craft for the classroom. For children, simply trace an cut out their hands for the craft
Cut out the patterns out with scissors.
Attach the head to the top front of the body, the tail feathers to the bottom back of the body with glue.
TIP: We used a glue gun and glue sticks for this craft tutorial.
You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Alternately, for less mess you can use glue dots or double sided tape.
Attach the handprint wings to the left and right sides of the body with glue.
Attach the beak to the head, and the talons to the bottom of the body with glue.
Glue two wiggle eyes to the eagle’s face.
To finish, draw two nostrils onto the top of the beak with a black marker.
