  • Needle and thread
  • Hot glue or craft glue
  • Paper clip
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Template

Instructions:

Print out the felt flower template and cut out all of the pattern pieces.

Select felt fabrics in the colors you prefer for the flower and the leaf pieces.

Trace the leaf pattern on green felt and the flower patterns on the colored felt fabrics you’ve chosen. Cut the circle piece from yellow or orange felt.

Cut out all of the felt pieces.

Place the two flower cutouts together as shown below.

Place the piece of circle felt in the center of the top flower.

Place the leaf pieces under the bottom flower, making sure that all pieces are are touching the center of the flower.

Prepare needle and thread. Flip the flower over and start stitching where the leaves overlap. Pushing the needle to the front of the flower, coming up inside the round circle felt.

Turn the flower back to the front side. Stitch around the circle middle, being sure to stitch through all the pieces of felt.

Continue stitching all the way around the circle, then pull the needle to the back of the flower.

Tie a knot or two in the thread. Then cut off an extra thread.

Cut out a small piece of felt to cover the paperclip, as shown below.

Attach the paperclip on the back of the felt flower using hot glue or craft glue.

Be sure to only cover and glue the top part of the paper clip.

Glue the small piece of felt over the glued portion of the paper clip.

The felt flower paperclip is now ready for use in your book. Give it as a gift or enjoy it in your own book!
