How to make a Handprint Lorax Craft

List of Supplies:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Pencil
  • Craft glue
  • Markers or gel pens
  • A pair of scissors
  • Template

Instructions:

Download and print out the Lorax craft template. Cut out all of the template pieces.

You’ll want orange and yellow craft paper for this Lorax craft, along with a few other bright colored papers of your choice.

On the orange paper, trace your hand. Then trace all of the other template pieces onto the rest of your papers. I’ve included a hand-shaped pattern too, incase you have a child who doesn’t want to trace his hand.

Use markers to draw eye details onto the Lorax’s eye.

Point the fingers of the hand cut out down. The heel of the hand will be the top of the Lorax’s head.

Glue the eyebrow cutouts along the top edge of the palm.

Attach the mustache below the eyebrows, leaving enough space for the nose and eyes between the eyebrows and mustache.

Glue the eyes just below the eyebrows.

Attach the nose cutout right at the top of the mustache.

You can use a marker to draw the mouth onto the Lorax, or you can use the mouth cutout provided on the template.

Attach the mouth cutout below the mustache, if you didn’t draw the mouth on.

Gather the Truffula tree cutouts.

Use a marker to draw the black stripes onto the trunk cutout.

Glue the tree top to the tree trunk complete the Truffula tree craft.

Use a matching marker to add patterns to the tree.

Make more Truffula trees in other colors if you’d like.

Your Lorax and Truffula Tree craft is complete!
