How to Make a Popsicle Craft with Craft Sticks

Materials:

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Craft Glue or a Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Craft Paint – Bright Pink, Bright Blue, Light Orange, & Orange
  • Lavender Craft Felt – Lavender
  • Chenille Stems in Assorted Colors
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Black Marker
  • Popsicle Pattern

Instructions:

To create the popsicles, line up four jumbo craft sticks.

Trim additional craft sticks to width and attach with glue.

Glue an additional jumbo craft stick to the back of each popsicle as the stick.

Trim 1/2 inch from both ends of two jumbo craft sticks with scissors. Dry fit onto the first popsicle, and trim again, if necessary.

Paint the first popsicle with light orange craft paint, and the two trimmed craft sticks with orange craft paint.

Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Paint the second popsicle with bright pink craft paint.

Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Paint the third popsicle with bright blue craft paint.

Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Attach the two orange craft sticks to the first popsicle with glue.

Glue two wiggle eyes to the first popsicle.

Download, print, and cut out the Popsicle Patterns.

Trace the popsicle topping patterns onto lavender craft felt. 

Cut out the popsicle topping patterns with scissors.

Attach the popsicle topping patterns and two wiggle eyes to the second popsicle with glue.

Cut 1/2 inch sections of assorted colors of chenille stems to create sprinkles. Three of each of 6 or 7 colors.

Attach the chenille stem sprinkles to the third popsicle with glue.

Continue to glue the chenille stem sprinkles onto the popsicle. Attach two wiggle eyes with glue.

Glue wiggle eyes to all the popsicles.
