Summer Beach Pudding Play Dough

Sharing is caring!

Looking for a fun indoor activity to keep your kids busy this summer? This summer beach themed play dough activity is a great way to beat the heat and have fun too.

Not only will your children enjoy playing with this pudding play dough, they’ll also love making it. Pudding play dough is so easy to make- all you’ll need is 3 simple ingredients, a mixing bowl, and a spoon!

This pudding play dough is actually edible. It doesn’t actually taste good, but it is safe to ingest, so you can feel good about letting your younger kids play with it too.

Another great thing about this recipe is that it creates a super soft, good smelling play dough that can almost be called slime. My kids love to make slime, but it has always made such a mess at my house. This awesome pudding play dough will stretch like slime when your kids work it with their hand enough, while still having the overall consistency of a dough.

After making this play dough with your children, help them gather or create some summer beach themed foam cutouts for a fun summer beach theme play dough activity.

How to Make Pudding Play Dough

Supplies:

  • ¼ cup vanilla flavored instant pudding mix (note: I purchased the 3.4 oz. box, you will have some left over for another batch if you’d like)
  • 1 cup corn starch
  • ⅓ cup warm water
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Plastic mat
  • Foam beach/summer themed shapes/cut outs

Directions:

Add 1/4 cup pudding mix to the mixing bowl. (You’ll have some left over for another batch)

Add half of the corn starch to the bowl.

Pour in the water.

Mix the dough well.

Add in the other half of the corn starch.

Mix well.

Finish by kneading the dough with your hands until you get the desired consistency. The dough should feel soft to the touch when you start mixing and should not be sticky.

If your dough is sticky, add more corn starch.

Place the dough on a plastic mat for play time!

Add the shapes to the dough.

Now, sit back and watch your kids play!
