How to Make a DIY Felt Strawberry

Supplies:

  • Felt fabrics
  • Needle
  • Matching thread
  • Cotton
  • Pencil
  • A pair of scissors
  • Printed template

Instructions:

Download and print out the felt strawberry template. Cut out the pattern pieces.

Select red, green, white, and yellow colored felt fabrics for the strawberry pattern.

Use a pencil or fabric marker to trace the template patterns on the selected felt fabrics and cut them out using scissors.

Take a strawberry base cutout and use a pen to add dots for the seeds on the base.

Prepare a needle with white thread and stitch small cross stitches on the dots.

Once all dots are covered with small white crosses, draw the thread to the back of the strawberry and tie 2 knots to secure it.

Place the small flower cutout in the center of the big flower cutout.

Place the stem cutout on the top edge of the strawberry that you just sewed crosses on.

Place the leaf cutout over to a side on the other strawberry base, near the top.

Place the stitched strawberry on the top of the plain one, keeping the leaf cutout between the two strawberries.

Place the flower on the top of the strawberry, overlapping the stem and leaf.

Prepare a needle with yellow thread and work a cross stitch on the center of the flower, stitching through the leaf, stem, and both strawberry pieces.

Tie a knot at the back and cut off any extra thread.

Prepare a needle with red thread and work a flat blanket stitch around the side of the strawberries, leaving the top open.

Stuff the strawberry with batting.

Once the stuffing is done, close the opening with matching thread, and secure the thread by tying 2 or 3 knots. Cut off extra thread.
