Kids of all ages can participate in this craft. Preschoolers will love the fun of painting and gluing, while older children can get creative with leg shapes, eye designs, and decorating details. Starting at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock, draw eight lines with a black marker, all intersecting in the middle of the paper plate.

Using a black marker and starting in the center, draw a series of scallops, attaching each wedge shape together. Continue drawing toward the outer edge of the plate creating a spider web pattern.

Bend eight black chenille stems in half and twist gently to secure.

Flip the small paper over on your work surface and glue the eight chenille stems to the edge, four on each side.

Bend the eight chenille stems to resemble spider legs.

Attach two wiggle eyes to the spider with glue.

To create cheeks, dip a sponge dabber into pink craft paint and stamp on either side of the spider’s face.

To finish, draw a smile from cheek to cheek on the spider with a white marker or paint pen.
