Instructions:

Select felt fabrics for the felt girl gnome figure. Be sure to choose Valentine theme colors for her details.
Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut out the traced pattern pieces.
Stitch the heart cutout to the shirt cutout.
Place the face cutout near the top edge of the shirt cutout and then place the nose cutout on the top of the face.
Place the stack on the gnome base.
Place the hat cutout on the base as well.
Move the pieces as needed to get the look you like. Be sure the face and nose stick out from under the hat a little bit.
Carefully lift the hat, face, and shirt stack off of the base. Stitch around the bottom edge of the face to secure the shirt and face together.
If you like, you can put a small stitch through the nose to hold it in place too.
Stitch the hat with to base around the outside edges. Keep the bottom edge open for now.
Stuff the hat part using cotton batting or scrap felt.
Place the lower body part back on the base, tucking the top edge of the face under the bottom edge of the hat.
Place the braid cutouts on either side of the head, tucking in the top edges of the braids under the hat.
Lift the stack of the gnome’s body, her braids, and hat off of the base. Stitch along the bottom edge of the hat attaching the hat to the braids and face of the gnome.
Be sure not to stitch through the base too.
Stitch around one side of the gnome’s shirt.
Stop just before the bottom edge of the gnome, place the shoes between the gnome’s shirt and the base.
Continue stitching around the gnome, securing her feet between the layers.
Stop stitching after securing the shoes.
Stuff the gnome with cotton batting or scrap felt.
After you’re done stuffing, close the open end to secure the stuffing. Tie 2 tight knots and cut off extra thread if required.
Don’t forget to make your Valentine Gnome’s boyfriend too!
