How to make a Felt Halloween Witch

Download and print the witch template. Cut out all of the template’s pattern pieces. You’ll only need one half of the template page for one witch.

Select different colored felt fabrics for the witch plush. Trace and cut out the patterns. Be sure to cut two hats and two dresses from the felt.

Take the head cutout and use a gel pen or marker to draw the eyes, nose and mouth of the felt witch. Prepare needle with black thread.

Use the black thread to stitch along the drawn eyes, nose and mouth.

Place the bangs on to of the head.

Now, place the witch’s head on the hair.

Choose a thread that matches the witch’s hair. Stitch the top of the head to the hair, being sure to secure the head, hair, and bangs together.

Stuff the head with some cotton batting.

Take one of the dress cutouts, and place the dress detail in the middle of the dress. Stitch the piece to the dress securely.

Stitch both dress pieces together – stitching only along the sides and the bottom edge. Be sure to keep the top of the dress open.

Stuff the dress through the opening.

Insert the open end of the dress through the bottom open edge of the head piece.

Stitch the head and dress’s overlapped parts neatly to secure them together.

Take the hat cutouts and stitch the hat detail cutout on one of the hat bases.

Cut a slit along the marked line inside the hat pattern.

Stitch the hat bases together around all of the sides.

Insert the top end of the felt witch’s head through the slit of the felt hat. Add some stitches to secure the hat to the witch’s head.

Your felt witch is finished!
