How to Make a Mini Cutting Board Snowman

Materials:

  • Jumbo Craft Sticks
  • Unfinished Wooden Cutting Board
  • Black Buttons, Black
  • Ribbons
  • Natural Jute Twine
  • Wooden Snowflake
  • Orange Craft Felt
  • Acrylic Craft Paint in White, Black, and Pink
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Sponge Dabber
  • Pencil

Instructions:

Gather all supplies. Place the jumbo craft stick toward the top of the cutting board and draw a line with a pencil.

Basecoat the bottom half of the cutting board with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. 

Basecoat the top half of the cutting board and the jumbo craft stick with black acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. 

Attach the craft stick hat brim to the to the snowman with a glue gun and glue sticks. If using liquid craft glue, please allow additional time for drying.

Using scissors, cut out a carrot shape from orange craft felt. Colored cardstock, heavy fabric, or craft foam would work for this project as well.

Dip a round sponge dabber into pink acrylic craft paint and pounce to create the snowman’s cheek. Let dry.

Select 2 large black buttons for the snowman eyes and 5 medium black buttons for the mouth. Stack the books together. Attach the buttons and carrot nose with a glue gun and glue stick. If using liquid craft glue, please allow additional time for drying.

Measure scraps of ribbon, lace, and trims that are 4” long. Stack in an “X” pattern on top of a 10” length of natural jute twine. Tie the jute twine tightly in the center of the ribbons, securing with a knot. Fluff ribbons, and then trim any excess ribbons with scissors.

Using a glue gun and glue sticks, attach the ribbon bundle to the snowman’s hat brim, then trim any long ends with scissors. Glue a small wooden snowflake to the center of the ribbon bundle.
