How to Make an Origami Christmas Tree Ornament

List of Supplies

  • Colored craft paper
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Decorative stones
  • Glitter paper
  • Printed pattern

Instructions:

Download and print out the pattern. Cut out the pieces.

Select any shade of green colored craft paper of your choice and trace the half circle pattern on it. Trace the star shape from a glitter paper.

Cut out the traced patterns.

Place the half circle cutout on a flat surface with its round side facing towards you.

Hold the right side of the cutout and make a 30 degree fold from the top middle point.

Flip the tree to the other side.

Hold the right flap and fold it to back to the left side as shown below.

Do not make crisp folds, keep them loose to give your tree a 3D effect.

Fold the current left piece back to the right side as shown below.

Fold from the right back to meet the opposite edge of the tree.

Use craft glue to secure each fold.

Attach the paper star cutout to the top of the Christmas tree.

Add decorative gemstones or buttons to the tree.

Get creative and decorate the tree as you like.

Use a yarn or string to attach a loop at the top, back end of the papercraft tree to use it as an ornament.

This origami Christmas tree ornament is the perfect craft to make this holiday season. Whether you create one or a dozen, each tree will add a personal touch to your holiday decorating and gift-giving.
