Toilet Paper Roll Pilgrim Craft

How to make a Pilgrim Craft for Thanksgiving
Supplies:
- Colored craft papers
- Empty Toilet Paper Roll
- Black marker or pen
- Craft glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Template
Instructions:
Print out the Pilgrim Template and cut out all of the pattern pieces.
Choose the colored craft papers needed for the pilgrim boy and girl.
We’re using black, white, grey and yellow colored craft papers. Feel free to switch the colors as you prefer.
Trace the collar, head, girl’s apron and hat patterns on white paper; trace the hair and the buckle patterns on yellow paper, trace the boy’s hat, belt and button patterns on grey paper; and select black colored craft paper to cover the toilet paper roll.
Cut out all of the traced patterns.
Take the buckle and the belt cutouts, insert the belt strip through the buckle slits. (You’ll see yellow marked lines on the template where you should cut the slits.) Slide the buckle to the middle of the belt. Apply glue to secure the buckle in place.
Attach a black strip on the hat piece.
Cut slit along the yellow line on the hair piece. Slide the top of the head into the slit as shown below. Secure with glue.
Glue the hat piece on the top of the head.
Prepare a piece of black paper to cover the whole toilet paper roll.
Glue the collar piece on the top, center of the paper.
Glue the button just below the collar
For the boy pilgrim, glue the belt below the button near the middle of the piece of black paper.
For the girl pilgrim, glue the white belt below the button, then glue the apron just below the belt.
Attach the head piece on the top of the collar, as shown below.
Draw the eyes, face and nose of each pilgrim.
Wrap the toilet paper roll with the black paper, keeping the head pattern on the top.
Glue the open ends of the wrapped paper to secure and complete the pilgrim craft.
Adorable aren’t they? You can use your pilgrim craft as Thanksgiving decor, or use them as puppets for imaginative play.
