How to make a Turkey Dessert Charcuterie Board for Thanksgiving

Supplies and Ingredients:

Choose a serving plate or board for your dessert charcuterie. I used this disposable 13 x 10 Palm Leaf platter. You could also use a glass or ceramic platter, a slate, or a wooden cutting board.

Next, you’ll need 3 piping bags and tips.

Make or buy your favorite chocolate icing. You’ll need about a cup of chocolate icing.

Put the icing in a piping bag with a #1a icing tip. You’ll need the large coupler for this tip, as its bigger than a typical decorating tip.

You’ll also need about half a cup of white icing. Tint half of the white icing yellow, and the other half red. Place each of these colored icings in a piping bag with a small round tip. I used a #5, but any small round detail tip will work. (You can also buy remade cookie icing, or writing gel for this portion of your turkey, if you prefer.)

Then gather items to make the turkey feathers. You’ll want goodies in red, yellow, and orange. We used fruit snacks, Runts, Orange slices, Swedish fish, and mallow cream pumpkins.

Next choose your dippers. The options for dippers is endless! Pick out a few different cookies, fruit, candies, donuts, and brownies for dipping. We used mini brownies, pumpkin spice marshmallows and vanilla wafers.

You’ll also need some edible eyes for your turkey.

How to assemble your Thanksgiving Dessert Charcuterie Board

Begin by making the turkey. Start by piping a circle towards the middle of the platter. Then, pipe a slightly smaller circle just above the first circle.

Add the turkey’s details. With the yellow icing, make feet at the bottom of the large circle. Also make an upside down triangle in the middle of the smaller circle.

Use the red icing to make a wattle. Add the edible eyes above the beak.

Now, make the turkey’s tail by fanning the red, yellow, and orange treats around his body.
