How to make a Cat in the Hat Puppet
Supplies:
- Colored craft papers in black, red, and white
- Pencil – to trace the template
- Craft glue
- Marker or gel pen
- A pair of scissors
- Paper bag
- Template
Instructions:
Download and print out the Cat in the Hat Puppet Template. Cut out all of the template pattern pieces.
Trace the patterns on the craft papers and cut the pieces out.
Attach the face cutout on to the head cutout.
Use a marker or gel pen to draw the face onto the Cat in the Hat.
Attach the red stripes on the hat, horizontally. Cut a slit below the bottom red strip of the hat.
Cut off the extra sides of the red stripes so they are even with the hat.
Insert the top end of the head through the hat slit, from below. Use glue to attach head to the hat.
Measure and cut out a piece of paper to cover one side of the paper bag.
Attach the feet cutouts on the bottom edge of the prepared paper.
Attach the belly cutout on the bottom edge of the body piece.
Attach the body onto one side of the paper bag.
Glue the head piece on the bottom part of the paper bag.
Glue the tail cutout to the back of the paper bag to complete the craft.
